The guy was a girl when Warren Zevon wrote the song. Linda changed things up a bit on her version. Warren's version is good as well. Both he and Linda's voice left us too soon.

The brother knows what he’a talking about. I heard this magical song as a kid in 1972. It’s a lifelong ❤affair reminds me of summer and all the beautiful things (even a first crush on an older girl with strawberry blonde hair) at 8 years old in those heady 70s 😂 it’s a timeless classic. I’m an old man now, but I’m that little lost skinny kid again when I hear this song. Words fail to describe the power a song has that makes its home in your head all your life, it’s fantastic 🙏🏽

But you should see the phenomenon that was Billy Preston when he joins the Beatles in recording both the Get Back sessions (to be come the "Let it Be" album), and Abbey Road, where Billy contributed some beautiful synthesizer work on George's monster Beatles song, "Here Comes the Sun".
